| If I had a million dollars..... I would sponsor one hundred kids from Africa. I would donate money to the Red Cross and to the United Negro Foundation. I would give the rest to the Create a Wish Foundation. Michael G. - grade 7 I would send the money over to Africa to help build schools. I would help bring in some fresh water so they could have a clean glass of water. I guess when you live in a country as rich and powerful as the United States of America you don't think about how much the children want to go to school. We need to think about that when we start to complain about going to school. Nathanial A. - grade 8 I would give the money to the local Salvation Army because they are always in need of more clothes and things to help people. They could also use the money for around Christmas time when there are children who want presents and aren't as fortunate as us. Heather S. - grade 8 I would probably give it to the charities that send the money to help all of the people in third world countries. I would feel so good because I could be helping people all over the world. Rebecca B. - grade 8 I would give one third of my money to my Church. The reason I would give it to my church is because God has given me so much that I think it is time to repay Him. The Church is where I have been baptized and it is where everyone should go every Sunday. I know God is always loving and would be happy with me. I would give it to the homeless shelter
because they provide food and warm shelter. I would also like to help people
take care of babies and animals. Peyton G. - grade 8 I would give it to the American Cancer Society because they need a lot of money to help people who have cancer. Armondo R. - grade 8 I would give the money to third world countries because people in these countries live in such terrible conditions that we can't even imagine it. People are constantly dying from disease and starvation. Famished people are common and a full stomach would be a blessing from God. Jorge D. - grade 8 I would give the money to a humane society. Most of them have small cages and sometimes the animals don't get the nutrition they need. They also don't get the exercise they need or the attention. Kendra M. - grade 8 I would choose the Boys and Girls' Club because it's a place that helps kids stay out of trouble and gives them something to do instead of all of the bad stuff. Janene G. - grade 8 I would give it to the victims of Hurricane Katrina because when it hit they had nowhere to go and lost everything and a lot of people did not make it. - Patrick G. - grade 7 I would give it to a charity that would help kids who are sick, having surgery, chemotherapy, or any other sickness.
