School starts on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - (K-8) PreSchool starts on Monday, July 28, 2008. There will be an Open House / Parent Orientation on July 24, 2008 - time to be announced. 5/19/08 - Dennis Uniform Company will be at St. Paul's School on Thursday, May 29, 2008 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. 4/16 - ** New state law requiring eye exams for all school-aged children took effect on January 1, 2008. Parents have until October 15, 2008 to provide proof of an eye exam. The new law requires comprehensive eye exams for children entering kindergarten or enrolling for the first time in public, private, or parochial elementary schools in Illinois. Children will be required to have the eye exam performed only by qualified eye doctors - such as optometrists and ophthalmologists. The law calls for the eye exam to take place within one year prior to kindergartners starting school in the fall and for all students who are entering school for the first time in Illinois. Proof of the eye exam must be submitted by October 15 of each school year. An Illinois Eye Examination Report form is available in our school office. Please contact the office for the form before scheduling your child's eye examination. 4/16 - We have just received notification that Carle Clinic - Danville will not offer the Saturday School Physical Clinics as they have in the past. School physicals will not be offered through their Convenient Care Clinic either. Call 431-7700 or 431-7650 to schedule a school physical or with questions. Carle will still provide sports physicals from 5PM to 8PM during the week and 8AM to 12 noon on Saturdays. 4/2/08 - WE WON! WE WON a free year subscription to the RVS gradebook program. Thanks! 3/5/08 - Congratulations to Daniel Wise (grade 8) and Ellen Elghammer (grade 4) who won in their categories for the WDAN / McDonald's grandparent essay contest. March Care survey. Please return by March 3, 2008. Schlarman Raffle tickets coming home. 2/20/08 2/12/08 - 8th grade parent meeting regarding class trip is set for Wednesday, 2/13/08 after the 8th Grade Volleyball game. 2/6/08 - Transportation reimbursement forms now available in the office for parents' signatures. 2/4/08 - Parents!! Financial assistance workshop dates: 2/5/08 - (4 - 6 pm); 2/7/08 - (6 - 8 pm); 2/9/08 - ( 9 - 11 am) all meetings will be held in the Grade 7 homeroom. 1/24/08 - Top Ten Ways for Parents to celebrate Catholic Schools' Week! 1/10/08 - Accelerated Readers - list of students who reached 100% or better of their goal for the second quarter. 12/6/07 - Governor Blagojevich's All Kids - Healthcare for All Kids 12/5/07 - Our annual canned food drive to help feed the hungry is now underway. Please be as generous as you can. All items will be given to Holy Family Church's food pantry. The pantry is currently very low on canned items 12/4/07 - Please note: Students get to go outside for a brief noon recess providing the weather cooperates. Please make sure they have on appropriate winter clothing including hats and mittens. 11/19/07 - Parent Thanksgiving Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, November 20, 2007. Reservations need to be returned by November 19, 2007. Parents need to go to their youngest child's classroom. Older siblings will be sent to meet parents. 11/14/07 - Transportation Reimbursement - Parent(s)/guardian(s) who have pupils living less than 1 1/2 miles from the school attended must verify that a safety hazard due to vehicular traffic exists by completing an Application for Determination of Serious Safety Hazards. This form needs to be filed by February 1, 2008. Parents need to contact the Regional Superintendent of Schools for the county in which they reside to get the form. Click here for additional information. 10/1/07 - Accelerated Readers - list of students who reached 100% or better of their goal for the first quarter BINGO schedule is listed on our website. 8/8/07 - Reminder: Academic Watch reports go home on Mondays for every student in grades 4 - 8. Any student having a grade of C or below on their weekly Academic Watch report needs to get their report signed by their parents and turn it into the office on Tuesday morning. |
