Mission of Holy Family School
(last update:  7/06)

Holy Family is a coeducational preschool through eighth grade school, charged with the religious and academic teaching of our students.  Its purpose is to provide a Catholic education centered on Christian virtues, which inspire and prepare students to learn, work, live fully, and to faithfully serve God in one another.

Philosophy

Our philosophy springs from Pope John Paul II's statement on Catholic education where he expressed so eloquently, "the purpose of Catholic education is to communicate Christ to you, so that your attitude toward others will be that of Christ... part of a Catholic education is to learn to see the needs of others, and to have the courage to practice what we believe.  With the support of Catholic education, we try to meet every circumstance of life with the attitude of Christ."

We are committed to:

•  Accepting that each person is created in the image and likeness of God.
•  Nurturing the goodness, dignity, and worth of each person.
•  Stressing the Christian virtues and instilling spiritual growth.
•  Helping the child develop their gifts and talents.
•  Creating an atmosphere in which the student must make choices and decisions and live by their consequences.
•  Stressing that all have privileges, roles, and responsibilities for which they are accountable.
•  Taking into account student learning styles, to better meet their needs.
•  Instilling that learning is a life-long process.
•  Sharing our responsibility with the parents who have the primary role in Catholic education.
•  Developing respect for individual differences and in doing so building Christ-centered communities for service to one another.
•  Celebrating, sharing, and witnessing to our faith in truth and in life; holiness and grace; justice, love, and peace.
