Breakfast and Hot Lunch Program
Holy Family School 2008/ 2009

(last update: 7/9/08)

Holy Family participates in the Federal Government Breakfast and Hot Lunch Programs.  The cost per pupil is determined by the amount of the Government subsidy, which is communicated to the schools in August.  In 2007-2008 the cost for breakfast will be $3.00 per week or $.60 per day payable each Monday.  The hot lunch cost will be $7.00 per week or $1.40 per day payable each Monday.
Breakfast is served from 7:50-8:10 and lunch is served from 11:30-12:00 daily in the school cafeteria.  Children may participate in the Hot Lunch Program or bring a sack lunch.  Milk may be purchased at school.

MENU
The menu is published at the beginning of each month.  Menus are posted on our website:  hfsdanv.org.  If you would like to receive a hard copy from the school, please notify the office and we will continue to send via the oldest student in the family.

CAFETERIA PROCEDURES
Students pray the "Blessing Before Meals" in the classrooms prior to lunch.
Students on all lunch shifts come to the cafeteria in single file.  Each teacher accompanies his/her class until they are seated in their assigned area.  Students who misbehave in line will be asked to go to the end of the line.

ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO PRACTICE GOOD MANNERS:
• Courteous responses: "PLEASE" and "THANK YOU"
• Wait for turn in line without pushing or taking "cuts"
• Subdued talking in the line and at the tables
• Spend adequate time eating at the table
• Leave table clean and push in chair (where appropriate) when leaving
• Place emptied trays in assigned place
• Sit relatively quiet on the bleachers until dismissed to the playground or classrooms

NOT PERMITTED:
•Throwing of food
•Chewing gum (any place)
•Popping of sacks
• Taking food outside
• Disrespect to anyone

STUDENTS WITH COLD LUNCHES
Students may not exchange food due to health reasons.  Cold milk is available for purchase.  We strongly encourage the drinking of milk, juices or water for lunch.

STUDENTS WHO CANNOT KEEP CAFETERIA/LUNCH RULES WILL BE ASKED TO EAT ELSEWHERE.
