| Holy Family School MEMO: March 31, 2008 To: Parents RE: 2008 - 2009 Registration IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN! "April showers bring May flowers." Isn't that how that saying goes? Well, we should have fields and fields of flowers because the rain has been plenteous! Anyway, with Spring comes registration for the next school year. So here it is! Attached you will find your family's registration form for the 2008 - 2009 school year. No doubt you expected, like all other entities, our costs have skyrocketed with rising utility rates, increasing healthcare costs and more -- all the same battles we all face at home. The HFS Education Commission has approved my recommendation of a modest, single digit increase of $9.00 per month for the 2008 - 2009 tuition. I know our cost increases will exceed that amount but we will try to remedy the shortfall in other ways. The annual tuition amounts are listed on the registration form. Please note that the parishioner rate is not an automatic determination. If you have questions as to whether you qualify as such, please see the HFS Parent and Student Handbook 2007 - 2008, (pg. 15). All 2008 - 2009 tuition payments (K-8) will be made through the FACTS service. As an incentive for you to use the automatic withdrawal from checking, HFS will cover the FACTS enrollment fee for this choice. All other choices will require that you pay the enrollment fee. We hope this will give you a bit of a break. (The one exception to using the FACTS service would be if a family paid the entire year's tuition at the beginning of the school year in July, 2008). We will be accepting registration forms/ fees, distributing FACTS forms, and answering questions in conjunction with our April Home and School Association meeting on April 15th. We will be available beginning at 6:00 p.m. As an incentive to take care of this in a "one-stop-shopping:" format, we will give you a $10.00 reduction in the first child's $75.00 registration fee if you complete all of the forms then and there. Keep in mind that we turned away students this year, due to reaching capacity in several classes. We want to serve our current students first, but realistically we must fill the classrooms. The following criteria will be used in reserving class placement: • Family must be current on all fees before registration is accepted • Book fees are due with registration and must be paid for each child. • Current students will have priority registration/ placement until May 15th. • May 16th will begin the "open enrollment" period Certainly you may gamble and register after the May 15th deadline and still get in... but we make no promises. Plus, if you wait past May 15th, the registration fee jumps to $100 per child. Now, if you are interested in saving some money, be our advertiser. Experience shows that our best advertiser is YOU! Want to earn some extra Christmas shopping money? If you bring in a family (K-8) that stays current with all fees through December, we will rebate your December's tuition up to $182.00 Or, if you want more immediate rewards, we will continue our current idea of rebating your first child's book fee of $75.00 for a new paid registration fee.
